About

Scarsdale International School (SIS) is an internationally accredited co-educational, English medium school, offering preschool, elementary and secondary education in Lahore, Pakistan. SIS is accredited by AdvancED and NCA2 in the USA and by the IBCC3 in Pakistan. Furthermore, it is a certified testing center for Cambridge Examinations.
The school offers two secondary programs: the American High School Diploma and O-Level examinations. SIS embodies a deep commitment to the provision and advancement of high quality education in Pakistan. Our mission is to build and foster a productive and effective learning environment designed to fulfill the highest potential of each student both academically and socially.

Class size at SIS is intentionally kept small, allowing teachers to give students an extraordinary amount of individual attention within the class. SIS is located on a purpose built campus in the Defense Housing Authority, Lahore, Pakistan. The campus includes 50 classrooms, 5 science labs, 2 art studios, a music suite, 2 computer labs, 2 imaginative play rooms, a 350 seat auditorium, cafeteria, a 25 meter swimming pool and outdoor courts for basketball and various other sports and games. Our facilities offer a diverse educational program from pre-school to high school.
The student population is drawn from Pakistani nationals and expatriates. Nearly 50% of Pakistani students in the upper elementary and secondary school have parents who are or have worked internationally and therefore have lived and studied overseas. Expatriate students in our school represent no less than 15 countries from North America, the Middle East, Europe and Asia.

Vision

Teachers who can inspire and motivate as well as challenge their students are central and fundamental to a good learning program. The faculty at the school represents a wide diversity of backgrounds, training and teaching styles. They are all dedicated people who have the best interests of the students at heart. The grade determines whether the teacher is a specialist or a general teacher.

Students are taught specific course material determined by the curriculum. Examples and applications are provided from everyday life in order to make the learning experience real and relevant. Therefore the emphasis is not only on the theory but on the application and practice of the skills. The manner in which this is achieved is grounded in interactive teaching which includes a wide variety of activities to enhance the learning experience.

The interactive learning process starts with a focus discussion and from there, either in groups or individually, the process of learning branches into oral presentations, multi-media presentations, displays, cross-curriculum work, practical investigation, independent research, field trips to apply the knowledge and skills mastered, interviews and other ways to enhance and enforce the skills taught.
