General
The College is located on 34 kanals land, with its own purpose built buildings. Facilities for students include 40 classrooms, a 350 seats capacity multipurpose hall, 2 science laboratories, a computer laboratory with 18 computers and multimedia, a library containing more than 7,500 books and 2 playgrounds of 10 kanals each. The College has its own electricity generators with sufficient capacity for the entire premises when WAPDA power is shut down.
Both girls and boys are admitted, but only the 3 Preschool classes – Playgroup, Nursery and Prep. are co-educational. From Class I onwards the boys and girls are separated, and their class rooms are located in separate buildings. They share some common facilities (library, laboratories, hall and play grounds) but in doing so remain separated by timetable management and have separate breaks, assemblies, debates etc.
All Classes have 3 Sections each. The maximum number of children in each Section of a Class are as follows: Playgroup – 25, Nursery – 30, Prep – 33, Classes I to V – 36. After Class V the number of students in each Class progressively reduces each year and comes down to about 20–25 students in each Section of Classes IX and X. This year we expect to have an average of 1,150 students on roll with a staff of 98 teachers and a teacher students ratio of 1 : 12.
Each academic year consists of two Terms, and each Term ends with a full scale examination. The First Term of the current academic year (2010/11), will start on 14 September and will end on 26 December 2010. The Second Term will be from 20 December 2010 to 24 April 2011. There will be a 1 week winter vacation from 12–19 December 2010 and 2 weeks spring vacation from 10–24 April 2011. The College‟s next academic year (2011/12), will start on 25 April 2011 and conclude in March 2012. Summer vacation normally are from early June to mid August each year.
The College normally opens 5 days a week, 185 days a year, for students in Classes Playgroup to VIII, and for 6 days a week, 235 days a year for Classes IX and X. Each school day has 10 periods, including one full period for the mid-day break. Fridays (and Saturdays) have reduced timings. Students in the 3 Preschool Classes have suitably shorter school days.
